11th CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT REPUBLICAN COMMITTEE
Fairfax City Fairfax County Prince William County
Campaign 2009
Statewide offices

Thank you for helping our GOP ticket in 2008! It's time to get ready for next year's important contests.

Virginia voters will be voting for Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, and state legislators in 2009. The general election will be Tuesday, November 3.

Republican nominees for the three statewide offices will be selected at the Virginia GOP Convention in late May. Those interested in serving as local delegates to the convention must sign up in early 2009. (Check back in January for details.) Our nominees for legislative races will be selected in late spring.

We invite you to get involved with the '09 campaigns here in Northern Virginia! Four things you can do today:

  • Contact the campaign(s) of your choice. (See web links, below.)
  • Sign petitions for the statewide candidates by Dec. 4, 2008. (Petition forms will be available at local GOP meetings and headquarters in November - see calendar and locations.)
  • Sign up to volunteer with your local GOP committee for next year.
  • Follow the news about the statewide campaigns.

For Governor of Virginia

McDonnell photoAttorney General Bob McDonnell is planning to run for Governor in 2009, and appears to be unopposed for the nomination.

McDonnell logoBob is a native of Northern Virginia (Fairfax County). He served in the House of Delegates from the Tidewater area for 10 years, prior to his election to statewide office in 2005. He has broad support throughout the Commonwealth, and we look forward to supporting his campaign in Northern Virginia.

For Lt. Governor of Virginia

Bolling photoLt. Gov. Bill Bolling is running for re-election in 2009. He and McDonnell are running together, to assure a united GOP effort in the coming year.

Bolling logoBill served as state senator from central Virginia, prior to his election to statewide office in 2005. As Lieutenant Governor, he has been a consistent voice for fiscal responsibility, and has cast important tie-breaking votes in the closely divided State Senate. Northern Virginia Republicans are ready to help his re-election.
