Republican candidates have filed in many districts.The 11th District Committee does not endorse candidates where the GOP nomination is contested. (Where no candidates have filed yet, prospective candidates should contact the local GOP Committees as soon as possible.)

The 40th House District currently includes the Town of Clifton and much of the Centreville and Fairfax Station neighborhoods in western Fairfax County, up to the Loudoun and Prince William county lines. The district is capably represented by Republican Delegate Tim Hugo.

The Republican nominee for 2011 will be selected in late spring or early summer, following redistricting.
